After a summer of fun-poolside chats, parties, baseball games, reading leisurely on the porch-your kids are now geared up for fall! Oh, wait, did you think that I was talking about YOUR summer? Ha! Most of us moms were the ones driving said kids to these fun, relaxing activities. And now it’s time for school, sports, weekend playdates, parties, plays, music lessons, bake sales, and…oh my. Here we go again. Naturally, we sacrifice everything for our kids. The smile on their faces is worth every minute spent dragging them all over creation. But wouldn’t it be nice, just for an hour or so, if we had a playdate of our own? Where we could laugh and chat and share stories and try new foods and experiences and learn new things without anyone pulling on a pant leg or howling in the background?

It’s time. We deserve it. Studies show* that a happy mom is a good mom. An independent mom teaches her children how to value themselves, and their time. Hello? How are you supposed to communicate with your fellow human beings if you don’t get out and practice a little with other moms first?

Don’t get me wrong. My kids are the world to me. But I am the world to them. I bring them stories of my day, of my work, of my athletic endeavors, of my friends. They ask me questions, and they learn. It’s important to them that their mom is out there in the world, testing it out for them, teaching them new things.

We created Moms Going Out as a resource for moms to connect with other moms. To laugh, share, and learn new things. But in the end, Moms Going Out is about YOU, and enriching your life, as well as your family’s. So c’mon out and join us. Learn some cool new things. Meet some cool new people. And enjoy yourself. You deserve it, and you are better for it. Moms going out, kids…and she’s going to have FUN!!

*ok, I’m pretty sure that studies show that, but I can’t quote you right now. Feel free to comment if you actually know of the study that says this. I’m just quoting from a self study.
